• Finishing Oil delivers a water-, heat-, alcohol- and food-acid–resistant satin finish—ideal for kitchen surfaces, worktops and furniture—but allows the natural grain to shine through.

• Wax Polish (e.g. Black Bison Paste or Liquid Wax Polish) nourishes and seals wood surfaces while giving a soft sheen and timeless protection.

• Both support easy maintenance: oils can be re‑applied annually, and waxes can be refreshed effortlessly throughout the year.

How should Liberon finishes be applied and surfaces prepared?

Proper preparation is key: start with clean, dry wood, sanding to bare wood if needed. Use Fine Wood Stripper to remove old paint or varnish, Wax & Polish Remover for wax finishes, followed by tack cloths to eliminate dust. Once ready, apply Finishing Oil with a lint‑free cloth or brush, let it penetrate for ~10 minutes, wipe away excess, and allow to dry for at least 5 hours. Usually, three or more coats yield a durable finish. Wax polish and ultrafine steel wool (Grade 0000) can be used between coats for a smoother sheen.
