Cabinet Scrapers and Burnishers
Cabinet Scrapers for Woodworking have been the magic tool of our craft for as long as spring steel has been made. A sharp cabinet scraper will produce shavings much like a plane and can shave large surfaces and limited areas alike.
They are available in an extremely wide variety of profiles, sizes & thicknesses. From rectangular, convex/concave, double curve to quadrant and special profiles, there is a cabinet scraper for every finishing application.
All that is required to sharpen a cabinet scraper is a good burnisher (which should last a lifetime) a decent file and a few minutes at the workbench.
