5 MUST-HAVE EINHELL POWER TOOLS

Since the release of Einhell power tools in 2020, the brand's popularity has swept across South Africa thanks to a simple but successful formula: Provide exceptional value for money through a wide range of products that span more than 300 cordless solutions.

As South Africa's largest supplier of Einhell products, ToolCraft boasts unrivalled experience in the brand. Moreover, we use dozens of their products in our demo room and in-house workshop.

While Einhell is often seen as a DIY brand, many tools exceed expectations with their thoughtful designs, excellent build quality, and daily-use durability.

With the help of Einhell expert, Gino the Craftsman, we've compiled a list of 5 must-have Einhell Power Tools that are far from being DIY divas; they're expert-quality tools worthy of any workshop…

EINHELL RANDOM ORBITAL SANDER TE-RS 40 E

If you're looking for a low-cost, high-powered orbital sander that removes a surprising amount of material for a 125mm sander, then the Einhell Random Orbital Sander is the tool for you.

The TE-RS 40 also features excellent dust extraction when connected to the Einhell cordless vacuum cleaner (see below), and the filters are super easy to remove and clean.

We also like the tool's flexible handle, and find the aluminium base a welcomed feature in this price range.

What Gino the Craftsman has to say

“Despite having access to a wide range of top-tier orbital sanders, the Einhell is my go-to sander for removing bulk material. I've used the product for over 2-years, and it's never skipped a beat.”

EINHELL BANDSAW TC-SB 200/1

Despite being marketed as a DIY / hobbyist machine, we've used our Einhell TC-SB bandsaw almost entirely for hardwoods, and every time we have, the machine has exceeded our expectations.

Once set up correctly, the saw is surprisingly accurate for a hobbyist bandsaw and only needs occasional tweaking to keep it on track.

Heavy enough to feel stable through hardwood cuts but light enough to move around when you want to, the Einhell bandsaw takes up very little workshop space and is super mobile when needed.

The machine also has an adjustable (45º) base, handy push-stick, quick-release fence, and easy-to-change blades.

What Gino the Craftsman has to say

“Another Einhell tool used almost daily in our workshop, with 90% of those jobs involving hardwoods. I love that the machine takes up very little space, is easy to move around, and doesn't make much mess when connected to an extractor.”

EINHELL CORDLESS ROUTER SET TP-RO

Two tools for the price of one! The Einhell Cordless Router effortlessly switches from a plunge router to a palm/edge trimmer thanks to its quick-change aluminium bases.

The tool also has a finely adjusted depth control, a powerful brushless motor with a soft-start feature, 6-speed options, a dust extraction port, and an application range that includes hardwood, composites, plastics, and soft metal alloys.

When it comes to value for money, the Einhell Cordless Router ticks all the right boxes!

What Gino the Craftsman has to say

“Unquestionably my favourite Einhell power tool. I like the soft start feature, the brushless motor that's never short of power or versatility, and the fact that you get a plunge router and edge trimmer in one package at a terrific price.”

EINHELL CORDLESS WET/DRY VACUUM CLEANER TE-VC

Thanks to its cordless design, compact size, and ability to attach to almost every Einhell product, the Einhell Wet/Dry vacuum cleaner is an essential workshop companion that allows you to extract dust from tools while working, effortlessly clean tools with the brush attachment, or even "sweep" your workshop floor.

The TE-VC boasts a long-reaching 2-metre flexible hose; however, because the unit can be effortlessly carried around, you can also take it outdoors to dust off tools using the "blow" feature, or even suck up water spills.

What Gino the Craftsman has to say

“Because the Einhell vacuum cleaner attaches to almost every Einhell product, the TE-VC is, without a doubt, my most used Einhell product. Its lightweight design and cordless portability set it apart from similar products. However, the machine's convenience stretches even further with its super easy-to-clean machine washable filters.”

EINHELL CORDLESS MULTI TOOL VARRITO

Multi-tools have become indispensable solutions for tradesmen and industry professionals. The ability to cut, grind, sand, or scrap almost every material available – without swapping tools – opens countless doors of convenience for plumbers, electricians, builders, irrigation experts, and DIY enthusiasts.

The only way to improve such a tool is to make it lightweight, easy to hold, and quick to change the attachments without requiring a specialist tool or Allen key. Well, that's precisely what you get with the Einhell Multi Tool Varrito!

Another thoughtful feature is the Varrito's magnetic base, which effectively holds each attachment in place while you secure it.

What Gino the Craftsman has to say

“You don't often find a multi-tool with a quick-release function. Most require an additional tool or Allen key to swap out attachments. The ability to quickly change the Varriot's application from cutting steel bolts to sawing through plaster or plastic was vital in a recent camper-van restoration.

The Kombi was riddled with old, rusted bolts & nuts that needed to be cut rather than unscrewed, and because the van's internal corners are all rounded, the Varrito proved invaluable when cutting grooves for the bed and shelves. I barely put the tool down, and was part of the restoration job from start to finish.”

Comments

I have been an avid supporter of one of the more expensive brands where I have virtually every one of their cordless tools. When BPM started to promote the Einhell brand I decided to breakaway from my blind faith in the one brand and bought an Einhell cordless drill. I was more than impressed with its performance and subsequently bought the cordless sander. Having been able to compare the two brands I have come to the conclusion that Einhell power tools are exceptionally robust, with state-of-the-art design, high performance, and above all they are excellent value for money. The tools that are built to withstand tough working conditions, making them reliable choices for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. With innovative engineering and cutting-edge design features, Einhell power tools deliver exceptional results, surpassing expectations in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. These qualities, combined with their affordability, make Einhell power tools a wise investment for those seeking top-tier performance without breaking the bank. My choice of the 5 best tools are:

Cordless impact drill 13mm brushless

Plunge cut saw

Sliding Compound Mitre Saw

Cordless Multitool Varrito

Circular Saw Mini

Started my Einhell collection a decade ago in Chile working on films and commercials with the standard pozi, circular saw, jigsaw and belt sander needs. Now back in South Africa that has increased beyond the workshop into the garden with the pole saw being the most useful and versatile. Pleased to report that after-sales service has been good as well.

My Einhell cordless power tool “addiction” all started about 2 years ago, when I purchased the cordless Glue Gun. I was so impressed by the quality of this tool that I started looking into the rest of the range. I had been looking at different cordless option brands, to see which one I would commit too. The EINHELL cordless glue gun sealed the deal. Since then I have purchased 7 other tools from the range and still each one continues to impress me. I would have to say that my favourite EINHELL product at the moment has to be my brushless drill. I know have my eye on the circular saw and then the palm router! (Don’t tell my wife!!!)

Glue Gun, Jigsaw, Multitool, Polisher are fantastic. Next up is the Palm Router

My favorite Einhell product is my BSG135 multitool, which I purchased in the very early 2000’s. Back then Einhell wasn’t a widely known brand. This product came with a bench attachment and flexible tube for very precise work.
It also came with size adjustments for different bits, which meant you could use other manufacturers bits, such as Dremel, when Einhell bits were not yet available.
I still use it often.
