  • The blade and chip breaker are held in place by compression and are adjusted with a Japanese hammer or wooden mallet
  • The blade is made from blue paper steel laminated to soft iron
  • The plane's body is made of Japanese White Oak
  • In general, traditional Japanese planes require maintenance to the sole
  • This plane has been relieved behind the blade and is ready to use
  • It does not require tuning
