Lathe Chucks, Jaws & Accessories

Lathe chucks hold work securely on the lathe.  Four‑jaw scroll chucks allow you to mount bowl blanks, while various jaw sets grip spindles and irregular shapes.  Accessories include faceplates, drive centres and tailstock live centres.

What are lathe chucks and jaws used for?
Lathe chucks and jaws hold the workpiece securely on the lathe while it rotates. They allow for different types of gripping — such as expanding inside a hollow piece or compressing around the outside — enabling a wide variety of turning projects.

What types of lathe chucks are available?
Common types include 3-jaw self-centring chucks (quick setup, general use), 4-jaw independent chucks (versatile for irregular shapes), and scroll chucks with interchangeable jaws (popular in woodturning for flexibility).
