Buffing wheels in the kit:

  • (x1) Ø150mm Sisal stitched buff
  • (x1) Ø150mm denim stitched buff
  • (x1) Ø150mm cotton stitched buff

Application:

Different metals have varying characteristics. To achieve the best possible result, it is essential that the correct compound and polishing buff is selected for the job.

The cutting compound should be used on a Sisal buff or stitched buff. A white stitched buff is ideal for cutting into metals. With the correct compound it will remove stretcher strains, orange peel, polishing wheel grit lines, light die marks etc.

An unstitched buff is used with polishing (finishing) compound on metals. Each fold/leaf of material is approximately 1mm thick.

The selection of compounds:

COLOUR DESCRIPTION WEIGHT
RED General purpose medium cutting for brass, copper and silver. +/- 1.2kg
GREY Finishing compound for steel, stainless steel, chrome and aluminium. +/- 1.3kg
BROWN Cutting and buffing compound for steel, stainless steel, chrome and aluminium. +/- 1.4kg
WHITE Bright finishing compound for stainless steel. +/- 1.5kg
LIGHT GREEN Cutting compound for stainless steel, aluminium and aluminium alloys. 900g
DARK GREEN Finishing compound for all kinds of metals. 900g
PURPLE Cutting compound for stainless steel. 900g
WHITE Cutting compound for stainless steel. 900g
YELLOW Cutting compound for copper, brass, aluminium, brass and steel 900g
