Tapes & Masking Tapes

Tapes include masking tape, painter’s tape, duct tape, double‑sided tape and aluminium foil tape.  Use masking tape to protect surfaces during painting, duct tape for temporary repairs and double‑sided tape for mounting and crafting.

What’s the difference between masking tape and other general-purpose tapes?
Masking tape is designed to be easily removed without leaving residue, making it ideal for painting, marking, and temporary holding. Other tapes, like duct tape or packaging tape, have stronger adhesives for permanent or heavy-duty use.

How do I choose the right masking tape for painting?
Standard masking tape works for most indoor projects, but for clean edges and delicate surfaces, low-tack or painter’s tape is recommended. For outdoor use, UV-resistant masking tape prevents adhesive breakdown in sunlight.

Can tapes lose their effectiveness over time?
Yes. Adhesives can dry out, lose stickiness, or leave residue if stored improperly. To extend shelf life, keep tapes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and dust.
