Spreader Clamps

Spreader clamps convert from clamping to spreading mode to push apart assemblies or apply outward pressure.  They are helpful for fitting cabinet backs and stretching frames.

What are spreader clamps used for?
Spreader clamps are designed to push materials apart rather than squeeze them together. They’re useful for tasks like holding door frames open, positioning panels, or creating controlled pressure in assembly and repair work.

How do spreader clamps differ from regular clamps?
Many spreader clamps are convertible — the jaws can be reversed to switch between clamping and spreading functions. Unlike standard clamps that pull surfaces together, spreaders apply outward force to maintain spacing or alignment.

How do I use spreader clamps effectively without damaging materials?
Apply pressure gradually and evenly, use protective pads on delicate surfaces, and avoid overextending the jaws beyond their rated capacity. For larger gaps, use multiple spreaders to distribute the pressure more safely.
