What’s the difference between a spanner, a wrench, and a torque wrench?
In many regions, “spanner” and “wrench” mean the same thing — a tool for gripping and turning fasteners. A torque wrench is specialised for tightening fasteners to a specific torque value, preventing over-tightening or under-tightening.

How do I know when to use a torque wrench instead of a standard spanner or wrench?
Use a torque wrench when precise tension is required, such as in automotive work, machinery assembly, or structural applications. This ensures the fastener is tightened to the manufacturer’s specification for safety and performance.

How should I care for my torque wrench to keep it accurate?
Always reset it to the lowest setting after use, store it in its case, and avoid dropping it. Periodic calibration (as recommended by the manufacturer) will keep it accurate over time.
