What’s the best way to use and maintain a skew chisel?

• Use the lower third of the cutting edge for the cleanest and safest cuts

• Maintain a sharp edge with regular honing and occasional grinding, keeping a consistent bevel angle (usually around 25°–30°)

• Practice on scrap material, as skew chisels can catch or dig in easily if misused

• Store carefully to protect the angled edge and avoid nicks
