Sandpaper sheets and waterproof papers (wet‑and‑dry) are used for hand sanding wood, metal and automotive finishes.  Wet‑and‑dry papers can be used with water or oil to reduce clogging and heat.

What is the difference between standard sandpaper and waterproof paper?
Standard sandpaper is used for dry sanding tasks like smoothing wood or removing paint. Waterproof paper, often made with silicon carbide, is designed to be used with water or oil, which reduces dust, prevents clogging, and produces a finer finish — especially on metals, plastics, and automotive surfaces.

How do I choose the right grit sandpaper for my project?
Coarse grits (40–80) are for heavy stock removal, medium grits (100–180) are for smoothing surfaces, fine grits (220–400) prepare for finishing, and very fine to ultra-fine grits (600–2000) are used for polishing and high-gloss finishes.

When should I use waterproof paper instead of standard sandpaper?
Use waterproof paper when working on metal, lacquer, varnish, or when you need a very smooth surface. Wet sanding helps control heat and dust, making it safer and giving a cleaner result than dry sanding.
