Punches, Hollow & Solid

Punches transfer marks or create holes in metal, leather and gasket material.  Centre punches mark drill locations, pin punches drive out rivets and solid punches expand rivets.  Hollow punches cut perfect round holes in gaskets and fabrics.

What is the difference between hollow punches and solid punches?
Hollow punches are designed to cut out clean holes in materials like leather, rubber, or gasket sheet by removing a circular piece. Solid punches are used for driving pins, marking metal, or aligning holes without removing material.

How can I make sure my punches last as long as possible?
Use them only on suitable materials with a proper backing surface, like a cutting mat or hardwood block for hollow punches, and a hardened surface for solid punches. Keep them clean and store them in a dry place to prevent rust.

Why does my punch get stuck or dull quickly?
This can happen if it’s used on the wrong material, on too hard a surface, or if it’s not properly sharpened. Regularly honing hollow punches and checking solid punch tips for deformation will keep them performing well.
