Floor Sanding Rolls

Floor sanding rolls are long rolls of abrasive used on drum and belt floor sanders.  They level and refinish timber floors before sealing or varnishing.

What are floor sanding rolls used for?
Floor sanding rolls are long sheets of abrasive material designed to be cut to size and fitted onto drum or belt floor sanders. They’re used for sanding and refinishing wooden floors, removing old finishes, and levelling surfaces.

How do I choose the right grit for floor sanding?
Start with a coarse grit (36–60) to remove old varnish or heavy imperfections, move to medium grit (80–100) for smoothing, and finish with fine grit (120–150) to prepare the floor for sealing or coating.

How can I prevent swirl marks or uneven sanding?
Keep the sander moving steadily with the grain of the wood, replace worn abrasive promptly, and overlap sanding passes slightly. Avoid lingering in one spot, as this can dig into the surface.
