How does Evapo‑Rust remove rust without scrubbing or harsh chemicals?

Evapo‑Rust uses selective chelation, where a specially designed molecule bonds only with iron from rust (iron oxide), turning it into a water-soluble complex and leaving the underlying steel untouched. This pH‑neutral, non‑corrosive formula requires no sanding or scrubbing and is biodegradable and non‑toxic.

What types of metals and items can be treated with Evapo‑Rust?

Evapo‑Rust works safely on iron and steel, including cast iron and stainless steel. It will not damage unaffected steel, plastic, rubber, painted surfaces (without oxide pigments), PVC, Viton, or coatings. It does not remove rust stains from non-metal surfaces.

How long does Evapo‑Rust take to work, and how is it maintained/reused?

• Soaking time varies: light surface rust may dissolve in 30 minutes, while heavy rust may need soaking overnight.

• The solution is reusable—one litre can remove approximately 0.22 kg of dry rust. Once its specific gravity changes from ~1.042 to ~1.085 or the liquid turns solid black, it’s spent and should be replaced.

• After rust removal, items should be rinsed thoroughly with water to remove residual iron and prevent re‑oxidation.
