Straight Edge Clamps

Edge clamps hold edging strips or solid wood edging on plywood and particle board.  Their jaws clamp from the top and bottom to press the edging firmly against the board’s edge.

What are straight edge clamps used for?
Straight edge clamps act as a guide for saws, routers, and other cutting tools, ensuring long, straight, and accurate cuts. They can also be used as a clamping bar to hold materials in place during layout or assembly.

How do straight edge clamps differ from regular clamps?
Unlike standard clamps that only hold material together, straight edge clamps combine clamping with a built-in straightedge, doubling as both a guide rail and a holding tool. This makes them especially useful for sheet goods like plywood or MDF.

What’s the best way to set up a straight edge clamp for accurate cuts?
Measure carefully from the cut line to account for your tool’s offset, align the clamp precisely, and lock it firmly in place. Always double-check the measurement at both ends before making the cut to avoid drift or misalignment.
