Carving Chisels & Knives

Carving chisels and knives feature finely honed blades for shaping, whittling and detailing wood.  Straight, bent and spoon gouges remove material with control, while chip carving knives incise decorative patterns.  Ergonomic handles reduce fatigue during extended carving sessions.

What are carving chisels and knives used for?
Carving chisels and knives are precision tools used in woodcarving, detailing, and sculpting. They're ideal for tasks such as relief carving, whittling, chip carving, and figure carving. These tools allow artisans to create fine details, smooth contours, and deep cuts in both softwoods and hardwoods.

What types of carving tools are available and how do they differ?
Carving tools come in a variety of blade shapes and sizes:

  • Carving knives – for whittling and general shaping
