What’s the difference between brazing rods and welding rods?

  • Welding rods/electrodes melt and fuse the base metals together, forming a strong joint.

  • Brazing rods use lower heat to melt filler metal, bonding materials without melting the base metal — useful for joining dissimilar metals or delicate work.

How do I choose the right rod for my project?
It depends on the base material (steel, stainless, aluminium, brass, etc.), the welding process (MIG, TIG, MMA, or brazing torch), and the strength or finish required. Always check rod specifications for compatibility.

What accessories are essential when working with welding or brazing rods?
Accessories include rod holders, flux (for brazing), storage containers to keep rods dry, and protective gear like gloves, goggles, and helmets. Using the correct accessories improves weld quality and extends rod life.
