Blades and knives are for cutting, trimming, or shaping materials; scissors are for cutting sheet materials like paper, fabric, or plastic; scrapers are for removing paint, glue, or residue; and snips are for cutting thin metals or tough materials. The best choice depends on the job’s material and required precision.

How can I safely handle and store these sharp tools?
Always cut away from your body, wear gloves for tougher materials, and store each tool in a sheath, blade cover, or closed position. Keep them in a toolbox or on a magnetic strip out of reach of children.

When should I sharpen vs. replace a cutting edge?
Sharpen if the tool is designed for reuse, like a fixed utility knife, scissors, or scraper blade holder. Replace disposable blades or snip edges once they no longer cut cleanly — forcing them can damage the tool or cause injury.
