Are all power tool batteries interchangeable between brands?

No. Most power tool batteries are brand-specific and designed to fit only that manufacturer’s tools and chargers. For example, a Makita 18V battery won’t fit a Bosch or DeWalt tool. However, some brands (like Einhell, Worx, and Gardena) are part of battery alliances like the Power For All Alliance, which allows sharing across different brands within that ecosystem.

What’s the difference between standard chargers and fast chargers?

Standard chargers offer a slower, more controlled charge—ideal for battery health and longevity. Fast chargers significantly reduce charge times (often 30–60 minutes), using higher current and active cooling. However, frequent use of fast charging may generate more heat, which can affect long-term battery life if not properly managed.

How can I extend the life of my lithium-ion power tool batteries?

To maximize battery life:

• Avoid full discharges—charge before it drops below 20%

• Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10°C–25°C

• Don’t leave batteries on the charger for long periods after full charge

• Use genuine chargers and batteries from the same brand to ensure optimal performance and safety
