Bar Clamps

Bar clamps use a sliding jaw on a flat bar to clamp workpieces.  F‑style and sash clamps apply strong, even pressure across wide panels and carcasses.

What are bar clamps used for?
Bar clamps are commonly used in woodworking and metalworking to hold pieces securely during gluing, assembly, or welding. Their long reach and adjustable jaws make them ideal for clamping larger panels, tabletops, or frames.

What’s the difference between a bar clamp and an F-clamp?
Both work on a sliding bar system, but bar clamps generally have a wider jaw opening and provide stronger, more stable clamping for larger projects. F-clamps are lighter and more versatile for medium-sized workpieces.

How do I prevent bar clamps from damaging my workpiece?
Use protective pads or scrap wood between the clamp jaws and the material. Tighten gradually and evenly to avoid leaving dents or pulling joints out of alignment.
