Autosol Metal Polishes & Cleaning Pastes

Autosol’s German made cleaning and polishing products keep your tools and equipment looking their best. The brand is renowned for its metal polishes, rust removers and surface cleaners that restore metals to a brilliant finish. Whether you’re restoring a vintage plane or maintaining stainless steel in your workshop, Autosol solutions deliver results without harsh chemicals.

What is Autosol best known for?

Established in 1929 by Otto Durst, Autosol is renowned worldwide for its award-winning metal polish, considered the best-selling paste polish globally. Formulated in Germany and manufactured across multiple international sites, it’s trusted for restoring shine on chrome, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper surfaces.

What types of surfaces can Autosol metal polishes be used on, and are they safe?

Autosol Metal Polish safely removes corrosion, tarnish, rust, and discoloration — leaving a brilliant, long-lasting shine and subtle protective coating. It’s suitable for industrial, automotive, marine, household, and tool surfaces. Certified by NSF International and ammonia-free, it’s even safe for use around food-contact areas. {Note: Products are not recommended for mirror-finish alloys, anodized aluminum, or chrome-plated plastics unless using dedicated formulas.}

How do I use Autosol Metal Polish effectively?

Apply a small amount of polish with a dry or damp soft cloth (or small brush for detailed areas), working in a circular motion. Allow it to haze briefly, then buff off with a clean cloth for mirror-like brilliance. Do not allow it to dry completely on the surface. For tight crevices, polish first on a cloth to minimize residue build-up.
