Product Description

  • This the ¾" roughing gouge is probably the most popular, being capable of both small spindle and work up to about 1½"
  • The Roughing Gouge is the first tool to use when spindle turning
  • It is used to conveniently take of the corners of the stock leaving it round ready for further work
  • They will also make initial shaping cuts removing the bulk of waste wood very quickly and efficiently 
  • The cutting profile of these tools are ground straight across making sharpening them easy to perform with a bevel of about 45° (Not for bowl turning)
