All Pfeil tools are sharpened and honed ready for use and are made from a special tool steel that combines outstanding elasticity with unsurpassed edge holding properties.These Swiss made adze are used for fast clean stock removal on large carvings or on timber frame projects. Forged to shape from quality tool steel, the heads are hardened to 56 – 58 Rockwell and then sharpened ready for use. The Swiss ash handles fit through the forgings and are held rigidly in position using a traditional steel ring that expands the timber to create a solid joint.
